DRESS CODE

 

It is the responsibility of players and clubs to uphold the correct dress code for tennis players.

 

At tournaments and interregional competition referees enforce Dress Code and the association and clubs have a responsibility to educate our juniors in all facets of the game.

 

Clubs and the association have a responsibility to ensure that player’s health and welfare are not put at risk through the wearing of inappropriate dress and footwear.

 

CORRECT ATTIRE

 

MEN/BOYS: Recognized acceptable tennis shorts & shirts (colours permitted)

 

WOMEN/GIRLS: Recognized acceptable tennis dresses, skirts, shorts & tops (colours permitted)

 

The wearing of recognized track suit pants is permissible during winter play

 

INCORRECT ATTIRE

 

Sweat shirts, tank tops, multi-coloured and patterned shirts (i.e. surf shop type)

Football, jogging, cycling, board, Bermuda, boxer or walk shorts. Long or ¾ length trousers or cargo pants.

 

No prominent advertising or lettering, only small company logos measuring no more than 13 square centimeters. No illustrated shirts permitted.

 

Footwear- no ripple soled, jogging, cricket shoes or shoes with a raised heel or with studs permissible.

 

CONSEQUENCES

 

Following the June meeting of the Committee clubs and players are put on final notice and the following consequence will apply:-

 

When detected by a member of the match committee offending players will have all games for the match deducted.
